We are a real school with real students taking classes at our physical location in Florida. When you enroll with our online school, you are taking the same courses those students are enjoying.  We are using real methods, classes, and curriculum that we know to be successful with our students. 

We were the harshest critics of online schools, as we had personally used many of those available. We sought to create a school that kept the elements we loved and lost the ones we found frustrating, grueling, or boring. We added the features not available in most internet classes, like multi-modal teaching, to keep the students interested and engaged. Classes are listed by ability level, not grade level, so students may take a class that is at THEIR level. With this in mind, we can cater to a wide variety of students- those with learning challenges, those who are gifted, or both!

A big part of our educational philosophy is the fact that SRVS allows students to progress at their own pace. Students are not on a mandated pace chart (if you have ever used one, you know how grueling they can be). Those with the motivation to accelerate their own education have the opportunity to move at a faster pace than typically available, and students who struggle with a particular subject have the opportunity to take the extra time needed in that class. Since we recognize that all students have strengths and weaknesses in different subjects, our school can accommodate all learners to help ensure their personal success.  Solid Rock Virtual School offers an unprecedented flexible schedule for students!

Our classes use a variety of methods to increase learning and memory and to stimulate most learners. By using frequent review to reinforce the previous lessons learned, we hope to create an environment where the students master the material and can recall it, even once the class is completed.

Our school uses this same method of teaching and advancement in our classroom setting and it is very successful for all ages, grades and levels. Skill level based, self-paced education is an enjoyable experience for the student.  Multi-modal teaching engages the student and aides in easier understanding. 

SRVS uses the computer as an essential instructional resource. Most courses include exercises in which students answer questions and receive immediate feedback from the computer.  Our classes also include teacher-graded assignments, where the teacher personally reviews and grades each assignment.  Students are encouraged to contact the teacher anytime during the course when additional guidance is needed.  One-on-one sessions are available as needed. 

As a brand new virtual school, SRVS is using advanced features to complement our classes. We are dedicated to developing computer-based multimedia courses that provide students with required, advanced, and specialty courses regardless of where they live. We will continue to add more courses as we find new and exciting ways to present subjects and implement them into our school!
